Why am I such a tourist in my own country?

Jacket: Topshop // Top: Brandy Melville // Jeans: Bershka // Boots: Dorothy Perkins // Scarf: Topshop

A picture featuring big ben, the London eye and the UK flag, why am I such a tourist in my own country?

On a chilly Tuesday night my mum and I wandered round the banks of the River Thames watching the prettiest sunset over  London. As we walked up and down the banks aimlessly searching for a pizza restaurant, I found myself getting colder and colder in the most impractical outfit I own. Although this top is so pretty and perfect for summer, Brandy Melville definitely don't cater for warmth. I can't wait for the sunny days where I can wear this top with a lace bralet, a little skirt and my favourite Grecian sandals but for now black skinny jeans have to do...

Wearing skinny jeans is a strange one for me, they are pretty comfy but I just don't find myself feeling confident in them at all. I don't know whether I've outgrown the simplicity of them but I always find myself searching for alternative options. Part of me thinks the obsession over skinny jeans is slowly dying out, what do you think?

  1. The totally relate to this caption!!!! I've lived in the same city for about 8 months now, but find myself still doing tourist-y things hahahah. Also, I sometimes find myself contemplating warmth or a cute outfit I picked out, first world problems, I'm tellin' ya, ahhahaha. Nonetheless, this outfit is so cute, the jacket + little scarf are perfect together!!

  3. I live in skinny jeans! I am very self conscious about my hip/stomach area and they seem to hide it a lot better than dresses/skirts would. I am getting more into wearing floaty trousers now it's getting warmer! Love this outfit though chick :-) x

  4. A lot of different cuts of pants are gaining popularity but I still don't think skinny jeans will die out completely. Theres still something so EAST about skinny jeans for me. Also, LOVE YOUR LOOK! You're quickly becoming one of my favorite blogs

  5. These photos are so good, and are making me miss London so much! Yes, Brandy Melville's stuff is so cute and soft, but also cold, unfortunately. Hmm... I always find myself wearing jeans (because I'm lazy when it comes to fashion) but I definitely see what you mean about it being more 'exciting' to wear skirts or just other options.

    1. I think because they're such an easy option they've become so popular, I would love for everyone to stretch out their comfort zone and try some alternative options!

  9. Cute photos! Haha I love the title of your post and actually think its a good thing to be touristy in our own areas because sometimes I actually take where I am living for granted and don't go out to see all the sights or do things that are really cool.

    1. Thank you, I completely understand that. We spend so much time daily in a certain environment we miss out on experiencing the things we'd find in it if we didn't live there!

  10. I personally love skinny jeans and wouldn't be without them! I've tried other styles but feel being so short nothing really looks that good on me apart from skinny cut jeans. I also love playing tourist in my own country! I'm forever learning about history and love Edinburgh for that :) I need to visit London again this year xx
